35th Anniversary Visit

Tour of Chicago

September 11-12, 2001

The tour of Chicago was abbreviated when tragedy struck the United States with the brutal murders at the World Trade Center in New York and the Pentagon in Washington. September 11, 2001 is a date that will live in the memory of the world. The photos below were taken during the group's shortened tour of Chicago.

The Shedd Aquarium gave a beautiful view of the Chicago shoreline as well as an excellent dolphin show. Some special trainers were brought in at the right "Price".

A trip to Navy Pier was enjoyable for everyone.

The American flags at Navy Pier were kept at half-mast.

Jane price had a "consultation" with a Chicago policeman.

The Hard Rock Cafe and the Rainforest Cafe were sights along the coach tour.

A visit to the Oakbrook Mall in the western suburbs of Chicago ended with many filled shopping bags.
The Bowleys and Marjorie Shelton had an opportunity to walk the "Magnificent Mile" in downtown Chicago.

This is an interesting view looking down the elevators in the vertical mall called Water Tower Place.

Arthur and Dilys Bowley on the outside "veranda" of the 94th floor of the Hancock skyscraper in Chicago.

The view out the window along Chicago's Lake Shore Drive was magnificent at night.

The "Mayors" got into trouble again. Apparently without money to pay the elevator fare from the 94th floor, Don Shelton and Arthur Bowley were forced to wash the outside windows to pay their way. Don't look down, fellas!
