BRECON NIGHT: Updates from previous meeting.  Dottie Barnes will contact member of “Sugar Factory” related to the illness of their leader.   Dottie will also contact Don Shelton for auctioning the jewels.

Jack Ceo will MC the evening and do the 50/50 raffle.  Joan Roth and Lucy Crossey will sell tickets at the door.  Other board members will do decorating, set up and clean up.

 

UPDATE FROM BRECON: Jim Roth received notification from Martin Weale, Councillor in Brecon that the new Mayor will be installed on May 12, 2014.  Neil Sanford “born and bred” in Brecon is the new Mayor.  Martin had a “positive discussion with him regarding the future of our twinning relationship. He is keen to ensure that the twinning relationship between Saline and Brecon continues and flourishes.”

 

SBFG, LTD. FUTURE FUNDING AND BY LAWS REVIEW---A copy of the By-Laws dated 2004 will be furnished to each Board Member.  Discussion of present and future funding was addressed.

SBFG, LTD. present funding sources include: Brecon Night including auctioned items, selling of the Ambassador’s “Jewels”, a 50/50 raffle, Sustaining Membership dues (which cover the cost of the summer picnic and fall fling) and the Ruby Tuesday Give Back Program.   Any distributions of the SBFG, LTD. assets are governed by the By-laws of the organization and the 501C3 regulations.  Study of these items are needed and will be discussed at the July 16, 2014 Board Meeting.

 

CELTIC FESTIVAL INFORMATIONAL DISPLAY:  Jim Roth received an invitation from Jim Peters to set up an informational display at the Celtic Festival, July 11-12, 2014.  The sister cities have done this in the past with minimal response.  It was decided to decline this offer for this year.

 

SALINE 150TH ANNIVERSARY AND 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE SALINE/BRECON SISTER CITY WILL OCCUR IN 2016.
