Signals At The Depot

Stop on red signal has a new meaning. When you see the flashing red signal, it has always meant to stop your car and wait safely for the train to pass by. The flashing red signals recently installed next to the depot suggest to passers by to stop and visit the depot museum. The signals were obtained with the caboose from the Norman Harden collection. The combined efforts of the City of Saline Public Works Dept. Historical Society members and Ormsby Electric Co. allowed the signals to be turned on for the first time during the Christmas parade a few years ago. When visitors ask, where is the depot museum? Tell them to took for the flashing lights as it also means we are open for business.
