106th Culver Cousins Reunion Minutes 26 people attended the 106th Culver Cousins Reunion hosted by Ed and Marcia Culver at Fallasburg Park in Lowell Michigan on August 12, 2018. Births were noted: River Ann Lammas and Noah Lahr No deaths were recorded Marriages: Stacy and Chris Marcus and Mason and Ashley Lahr The oldest in attendance was Richard Cone aged 91 and the youngest was River Ann Lammas aged 2 months Historian Marjorie Shelton discussed the history of the family and the migration to York Township from New York. She described the oldest known ancestor, Phineas Culver, his two wives and some of his sons who later migrated to the western part of the State. She emphasized the importance of railroads in keeping the family ties. She described the important development od DNA in genealogy. President Don Shelton described his recent teaching and research in the use of genetice genealogy to solve crimes. Entertainment: Elizabeth Colson played the guitar and sang “Kissed the Teacher” from “Momma Mia” and also “My Boy”. Don told riddles and “sort of jokes”. Richard Cone recited the alphabet backwards. Officers were re-elected. The next reunion will be hosted by Tracy and Greg Shelton in Saline. Mason Shelton passed the hat for the collection to reimburse the hosts and make the contribution for the Mooreville Cemetery.
