2002 Culver Cousins Reunion

Where Were You on the First Sunday in August of 1976?

As you can see in the photo on the back of this invitation, many of us were at Curtiss Park in Saline celebrating the 64th Culver Cousins Reunion. Return with us now to those thrilling days of yesteryear as we celebrate the

90th Culver Cousins Reunion

Sunday, August 4, 2002

Potluck Picnic begins at 2:00 p.m. at

Curtiss Park, Saline, Michigan

Our progenitor Phineas Culver moved from New York in the 1830s and settled in Mooreville, Michigan just 5 miles or so from Saline. Phineas, his second wife Electa, son Jesse, and daughter-in-law Polly are all buried in Mooreville Cemetery.  Twenty-six years ago, 78 of us gathered in Saline for fun and games, good food, renewing acquaintances, and even a trip to nearby Mooreville. Then our hosts were Don and Marjorie Shelton. This year our hosts are their children, Tracy Shelton Colson and Greg Shelton (who at 5 months was the youngest attendee in 1976!)

Hot dogs and hamburgers will be provided, as well as the drinks. Please bring a salad, vegetable or dessert to pass and your own table service. Please bring your family news, stories, anecdotes, and any family memorabilia you want to share. There will be time for games so bring sports equipment of your choice. (You can even fish for carp in the Saline River). We will also organize a “guided” trip to the Mooreville Cemetery
